TRAINING COURSE – Maxon Cinema 4D R21 XPRESSO & Thinking Particles

Target Group

This training is aimed at users who already know the basics of Cinema 4D and now want to delve deeper into the subjects control, automation and Thinking Particles. The training is designed so that even "non-programmers" can quickly create their own practical solutions.

In this training you learn, the basics of using XPRESSO and the Node Editor. You get to know each function node in a practical way and start linking them. Afterwards, you create your own setup and re-usable control systems. Equipped with this knowledge you learn the basics of Thinking Particles, the dealing with groups of particles, forces, and emitters.

Helge Maus is MAXON Certified Lead Instructor and beta tester for CINEMA 4D.

Maxon Cinema 4D is a professional software package for creating 3D objects and scenes for

film, multimedia, visual effects, product design, architecture and engineering.
The entire family of Maxon Cinema 4D products offers all possibilities for professional modeling, texturing, animation and rendering of images. Therefore, you are able to create animations in a stunning quality.

Many tasks in Cinema 4D, for instance character animation or motion design, can be controlled in an intelligent and automatic way with the help of XPRESSO. The advantage of using XPRESSO instead of the powerful built-in programming languages such as Python or COFFEE lies in the fact, that XPRESSO is a purely graphical system which is based on nodes. By linking nodes (node function) you produce logical circuits that extend the capabilities of Cinema 4D.

Once created circuits are reusable, and there are also separate "parametric objects" possible. Applications can be control systems for lighting setups and technical processes as well as support for the rigging of characters, or you use them as little helpers, such as "self-opening doors" when approaching a camera.

With the help of XPRESSO the integrated and very powerful Thinking Particles system is available for the Cinema 4D user. This particle system is far superior to the standard particle system and allows the complex control of particle currents for stunning effects.
